OpenCMA For PS Vita

Just shortly after the PS Vita was released, we've seen the first Hello World be horribly addressed by Sony with mandatory firmware updates. While forcing updates via Content Manager gives Sony a false sense of security, here's something that takes it all away. Zhilie has reworked some files of the Content Manager to completely bypass the firmware checks performed.

The installation is pretty straight forward:

1) Download the OpenCMA files below.
2) Extract the files to the installation directory of CMA.
3) Execute the 'ran.bat' file. (Run As Administrator if using Vista/Win 7)
4) Reopen the CMA. The checks should be disabled now.

Zhilie explains: (as translated)

psp2-updatelist.xml update files in disguise. If you really need to upgrade later, you can upgrade to temporarily rename this file before, but this update from the Internet. Or download the latest psp2-updatelist.xml to the CMA directory:

After the restart CMA is not networked, or whether there will not force an update of the CMA strike.

Let's see how long this will hold and if it will still work for when the Vita is released in the other parts of the world.
